What matters most

What matters most is inner strength. We all have it. Not only do we have it but the ability to have all we need of it whenever we need it. We hear of such tragic, mind defying things that happen every day all around the world. Events where, in an instant, people's lives are forever changed. The Boston bombing. Columbine. Parents throwing their young children off balconies or bridges to their death. Bread winners  suddenly dropping dead from aneurysms or heart attacks. We stop what we are doing and pray for the families in their loss. We pray even harder thankful that it was not our loss.  We all know we have no control over outside events. We go on living hoping and praying for God's covering. God does not play favorites, so we exist in our daily lives also knowing bad things happen to really good people.  Good or bad, that is a very real reality.

What matters most is that of which we are made. Who we are prepares us for anything that comes our way. The idea is not that we don't become changed by events affecting us personally.  Not at all. The idea is more that we have stored up enough of those necessary spirit pieces to carry us through really difficult times. Spirit pieces are created when we learn to pray and as we build deep belief systems rooted in bible verses and conversations with God. What matters most is we don't wait for the bad things to come knocking and we have no inner strength reserve because we never created one.

What matters now is you are reading this and you are making a choice between....is this message for me or is this message for that other person? You might still be telling yourself, nothing really bad ever happens to me.

A prayer to consider:  Ephesians 3:14-19
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
    to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
        that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
            that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
            may be able to comprehend with all the saints
                what is the width and length and depth and height——
                to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge;
                    that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

    I love being around people. I would rather live falling than break my spirit never trying anything hard. This blog is about trying and retrying life.
